OC Pole Fitness: Collette
COLLETTE

Warm, giving, sexy and confident. Collette founded OC Pole Fitness with a vision as big as her heart … to provide a safe, effective sanctuary for women to exercise and discover their inner and outer strength and beauty in profoundly new ways. Collette is a mother of two, serves as a school board council member at her children’s school, and holds a Masters degree in Business from The University of Michigan. Having served more than 10 years as a senior level business consultant for several Fortune 50 companies, Collette always wanted to pursue and share her knowledge and love of fitness...she was a college trained athlete, earned physical fitness awards in the military, and completed marathons. She moved on to owning a successful traditional fitness center prior to starting OC Pole Fitness, and while traditional training yielded terrific fitness benefits, she couldn't help but feel there was something missing...something that didn't tap into the psyche or the very BEING of a woman. All the weights, pressing, squatting, grunting...it just felt so...well....neanderthalic. And, do we need to say anything about harsh florescent lighting? Then, on a sporadic visit to Magic Mountain with her children, she watched the Chinese Acrobatic team perform on 35 foot "poles" ... what awe inspiring strength, grace, flexibility...and the light bulbs went off...the acrobatic show was in essence a "pole dance". What if we created a sensual environment, incorporated sensual movement every woman could learn and do, and combined it with solid fitness principles to build strength to work up to advanced pole work? What if it was a permissive and tasteful environment, where it is ok to explore, be and feel unapologetically sexy, uninhibited? OC Pole Fitness was born.

Now, OC Pole Fitness is home to hundreds of women who have experienced the joy, liberation, self-confidence, fitness benefits (we're talking 6 pack abs!) that OC Pole Fitness has to offer. Happiness and self-confidence are states of mind, and the formula for being fit is clear...for most of us it is just a matter of doing it. Collette's background is not unique. While she was always athletic, she was never a dancer nor gymnast -- yet she has now developed one of the most advanced programs in the world. Whether you wish to keep your feet on the ground, focus on and explore your sensual movement while you get in better shape, or build up to gravity defying acrobatic movement, OC Pole Fitness has what you need. Collette is truly an 'everyday woman' who discovered and redefined the strength, power and beauty pole dance has to offer...and through the OC Pole Fitness program, she shares what she has developed and opens the door for women of every age, shape and size to learn in a safe, fun, and effective environment.

Collette's latest endeavor is managing the one and only Felix Cane!  Ms. Cane is an international sensation in the exponentially growing sport and art of pole dance fitness, having won two consecutive World Pole Dance Champion titles and earning the coveted title of Miss Pole Dance Australia three times.  In addition she has just signed to perform a solo pole act in the latest Cirque Du Soleil tour de force, “Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour”.  For more information on the amazing Felix Cane, please visit felixcaneinc.com.


OC Pole Fitness: Erika
ERIKA

Having a full background of dance training starting at the young age of three years old, Erika offers a unique style and professional training which extends from modern dance, jazz, tap, belly dance, and classical ballet.

Erika is an inspiration for many students because she started as an OC Pole Fitness student and is now a lead master level instructor who has also showcased in several large scale performances, including the International Pole Performer’s Showcase on the historic Queen Mary in Long Beach. Fueled by her passion and love for what this amazing sport and art has to offer, Erika will work closely with you to build your strength and cultivate your style to maneuver around the pole and floor with power, grace and confidence. Erika is also an expert on the Lyra (aerial hoop) and the Tissu (aerial silks).

Erika’s rich dance background includes learning from the National Institute of the Beauty Arts in Mexico, Alicia Alonso Academy in Cuba, and The Royal Academy of Dance in London. In addition to her formal dance training and education, Erika also earned an Associates Degree in Advertising Design, Bachelors Degree of Law, and Masters Degree in Civil Law.  She is also a loving mother of two children.

Known for her flexibility, style and grace, Erika will put you at ease with her supportive, respectful style of teaching, helping you to reconnect with your sexy feminine essence.

OC Pole Fitness: Felicia
FELICIA

Felicia is warm-spirited and fun-loving, offering a solid background of dance experience with a delightful combination of genuine warmth and sexy confidence. Felicia has a passion for dance and a love for helping others feel great about themselves. Although she enjoyed participating in gymnastics and competing in figure skating, dance is what inspires her. Felicia feels at home as an instructor at OC Pole Fitness and loves the mixture of creativity and strength training this program has to offer.

 


OC Pole Fitness: Natalie
NATALIE

Natalie has a passion for working with women to discover their inner beauty. She has been married for 17 years and has three children. When she is not teaching, she is an active member of the PTA and a mentor to parents with children newly diagnosed with autism, (her daughter was diagnosed in 2000). Natalie graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Communications.

"I started pole dancing over four years ago. I was a stay at home mom and was feeling out of touch with myself. I was watching a show on television about "stepping outside of your box" as a way to recharge your life. Pole dancing was as far out of my box as I could possibly go. I signed up the next week and have been hooked ever since. My classes became my much needed escape from the outside world, where my only focus was myself. For a few hours a week, I didn't worry about cleaning my house, cooking dinner, laundry, carpool or homework. My only concerns were music and movement.   Pole dancing has changed my life in so many ways. Not only has it taken my body to a level of fitness that over a decade in the gym couldn't do, it has given me the confidence to embrace, empower and nurture my sensuality as a woman. It has helped me learn to love my body, cellulite and all. It gives me the mental strength to take on the world when I leave the studio. I also believe it makes me a better wife and mother, you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of others.

The atmosphere at OC Pole Fitness allows me to express myself openly and honestly through the music and dance. I believe it is my job as your instructor to help you get to the same place."
